Why Branding Is So Important
I was quite surprised with the crowd yang hadir pada hari tu. I actually interviewed some of them. Bukan saja pengunjung-pengunjung taman tasik tersebut yang turut serta dengan program Zumba ni tapi ada yang datang dari all over KLsejauh Sungai Buloh, Sungai Long dan oh yes even Melaka ! They have this Zumba community and always in the loop kalau ada Zumba event macam ni around Klang Valley. No wonder la crowd memang ramai sangat.
Admission was free, Semua orang boleh join. Dari baby yang baru belajar berjalan sampai la uncle-uncle and aunty-aunty yang excercise tai chi kat area taman tasik tu pon joined kitaorang berzumba. Bila music on je, apa lagi everybody was so into their Zumba. Happening OK !
All I have to say here is I'm impressed with my client's effort to organize this kind of event. Jarang kita dengar produk-produk owner tempatan lain ingin menganjurkan event-event kesihatan begini for branding. Selalunya only the big brands like Milo, Nescafe, Coca Cola or McDonald's. Kalau sponsorhip macam event-event yang berkaitan hiburan selalu kita dengar ditaja oleh jenama jenama produk kosmetik atau produk kesihatan tempatan. Tapi kalau event sports or kesihatan memang jarang.
Obviously it was a good effort and the most important thing is the branding client has created. Nak create branding bukan senang yea. Milo took a long way, years since we were small. Sponsoring sporting events, or relating their brands with Gaya Hidup Sihat.
Kesimpulannya, everybody had so much fun during the Zumba event. Best jugak sekali sekala menari Zumba right in the middle of the park ramai-ramai instead macam selalu menari dalam studio. No wonder la nowadays ramai kawan-kawan I joined Zumba class ni. Regret betul tak bawak my sport shoes that day. Next time wajib join.
Our client had a small booth, selling their milk, coffee and chocolate drinks and ramai sangat yang beli. Sale memang best la kan ! And my client planned to organize this event at least sebulan sekali. Bravo I said ! My client ni antara client-client yang memang berfikiran jauh. I really like the way she thinks. A very smart lady and I really really respect her.

When People Stop Buying, Double Up Your Advertising
Few days ago, I saw this new book about the famous Mr Tony Fernandes, the founder of Tune Group, the chairman of Queen Park Rangers Football Club, the first Malaysian who introduced the first budget airlines in Malaysia with their famous tagline " Now Everyone Can Fly" and turned Air Asia into the most successful budget airlines in Asia. I guess he needs no introduction among us Malaysians.
So I took the book off from the shelf and immediately flipped my fingers to the middle page of his book.
The first sentence, his sentence that I saw is about SARS. It was in 2009, the SARS pandemic really hit Malaysia badly, especially economy, people were afraid to go out. Shopping malls tenants saw decreasing in their sales. People were afraid to travel abroad even to travel locally. It really gave a very big impact on the tourism industry. Advertisers started to pull off their advertising campaigns, all of them except for one person, Tan Sri Tony fernandes. He set up a meeting with his marketing team to double up their advertising. WHAT???
At that time people would think it was a very bad idea. But the great Mr Tony here think otherwise. With RM 40 one way trip to Miri dont you think it is a very good bargain? It is so cheap ! Who cares about dying !
I was shocked. I was impressed. He is so damn good. No wonder he is who he is now. I would not think that way. To that level but. HE IS RIGHT! As a result, Air Asia Airlines managed to get a very high sale on their airlines tickets. It was a very good strategy.

Nak Jadi Kaya Macam Dato' Seri Vida ?
Siapa tak nak? I tengok dia shopping spree dekat LV boutique mcm Michael Jackson .
" I want this.. I want this.. I want this...
I want that...I want that...I want that..."
I still remember we all dulu when we had our company's euro trip, masuk je any luxury designer boutiques, SA-SA ( sales assistant ) mesti happy je dengan kedatangan we all. Mana tak, diaorang buat sale adalah dalam 30 handbags in just less than an hour we all dalam boutique tu.
OK. Back to the topic. Siapa tak nak kaya macam Dato' Vida... Pernah tak tertanya, macammana dia ni kaya? Im sure all of us tau macammana. Shes selling her health and beauty products yang membuatkan dia kaya.
So what now? Jual beauty product? Jual health product. Having our own brand? Or be as brave as DSV promoting our brand?
OK OK. So U pergi kilang OEM, buat strategies, spent weeks or months of R&D, brainstorming on the perfect packaging and design of the bottles and logo. Product u siap. Yeayyyy !!!
NOW have your own product. Lepas tu? What next?
Let it sit in your store room, kasi sedara mara, kawan-kawan test... ( in hoping they all suka and words of mouth works usually) or share dalam whatsapp group kawan-kawan sekolah ?
Masa berlalu.... every single day u are watching on instagram or TV looking at DSV, Vivy Yusof, Aliff Syukri promoting themselves or their businesses. Tidak terdetik langsung pada kita why are they doing what they are doing?
U think packaging penting? Yes of course penting.
U are spending so much time to create your logo penting? Yes. Of course !
U think your product can cure all the skin problems or your product memang mengancam sangat sampai kawan-kawan and sedara mara will support you and make your product popular by telling their friends, families and colleague? Ermmmm.... Maybe.
I pernah jumpa one of product owner. I rasa product dia very impressive. I will not tell here what is the product. But the product itself, the packaging, the logo, semua bombastic la I can say. But why tak jalan jalan? WHY? Because NO PROMOTION. NO ADVERTISING. NO BRANDING. So rasanya siapa nak beli kalau tak tau.
Sedara mara and friends? I wish U all the best.
"Takpe Zeti, nanti i dah banyak duit I buat advertising".
But they have money to make more products. They keep on adding stocks. Matematik kononnya lagi banyak stok buat lagi banyak untung nanti. Stok semakin berlonggok dalam stor. Tapi takde yang keluar-keluar / terjual.
Matematik sale ni sebenarnya, u tak boleh simpan banyak stok. Kalau stok u tak jual-jual makna nya something wrong with your direction.
Conclusion here, sebelum nak jadi kaya macam Dato Vida... sebelum ada produk sendiri... belajar promosi. MACAMMANA ? Promote diri sendiri dulu, belajar la aktif kan diri on social media, facebook, instagram, blogging or maybe youtube. Buatlah OOTD ke, post naik gambar makan ke? Lepas tu, belajar ilmu advertising macammna and apa produk-produk owner ni buat untuk branding produk diaorang.

Why Do We Need to Advertise ?
WHY DO WE NEED TO ADVERTISE ?
We are on federal highway. The busiest highway in Klang Valley. It is the busiest highway connecting all the major cities of Klang Valley like Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Bangsar, all the way to Shah Alam and Klang.
What will you see?
I see billboards. Hundreds of them. Billboards of big major brands and companies like McDonalds, Nescafe, Milo, Coca Cola, Toyota, Honda, Burger King, Starbucks, KFC and all the famous international brands.
Have we ever wonder why these brands still need to advertise? They are already famous around the world. They need no introduction to the consumers. They are even the brands sitting in most of the houses in the world. Why are they wasting money on media advertising and spend a very big percentage of their annual budget for advertising?
They need it. They have to.
Ever wonder why they are the main player in fast food industry? Why they remain the first brand that is on our mind if we want to drink coffee or chocolate drinks? Have u ever wonder why people think they are the best brands than the rest of the local brands or the less popular brands.
Because of the their advertising campaigns. On tv, radio, newspaper, magazine, billboards that runs daily. They make sure they will be on our mind everyday in a year 365 days , 24 hours per day, by stannding on the right locations. They make sure, we will only think of them not their competitors.
Isnt that obvious why they are still the most popular?

Ajensi Pengiklanan
Apa itu Ajensi Pengiklanan ?
Ajensi Pengiklanan adalah sebuah agensi yang membantu pelanggan yang mempunyai perniagaan sendiri dalam urusan promosi dan juga penjenamaan sesebuah perniagaan tersebut atau dikenali sebagai pengiklanan.
Bagaimana sesebuah perniagaan itu ingin mengiklankan perniagaan mereka?
1. Perbincangan di antara klien dan ajensi pengiklanan akan dijalankan. Ajensi pengiklanan akan mengambil maklumat sebanyak mungkin seperti info perniagaan, produk, target pelanggan klien, sasaran jualan, kelebihan produk atau kelemahan perniagaan klien, dan yang paling penting bajet klien tersebut.

3. Perbincangan kedua akan dijalankan antara klien dan ajensi pengiklanan. Ajensi pengiklanan akan membentangkan strategi-strategi kempen kepada klien.
4. Klien akan membuat keputusan untuk meneruskan kempen tersebut jika mereka bersetuju dengan bajet dan strategi-strategi yang telah dibentangkan.
5. Ajensi pengiklanan akan membuat media booking untuk diserahkan kepada media owner yang terlibat mengikut rangka kempen yang telah dipersetujui oleh klien.
6. Invoice akan dihantar kepada pihak klien untuk proses pembayaran.
7. Pembayaran oleh klien dibuat untuk menempah slot-slot di media-media berkaitan mengikut kempen yang akan dijalankan.
8. Ajensi pengiklanan akan bekerjasama dengan pihak scriptwriter, designer, untuk menghasilkan skrip, artwork atau copywriting yang sesuai untuk kempen iklan klien.
9. Perbincangan terakhir dengan pihak klien sebelum kempen iklan dijalankan.
10. Kempen pengiklanan klien bermula di media media terlibat samada di tv, radio, akhbar, majalah, suratkhabar, billboard, bas, cinema, lrt dan banyak lagi.

Why I Love My Job
I love my job. Kenapa? I got to meet a lot people. Tapi orang-orang yang I jumpa mostly are my clients. Business or product owners.
Why I love meeting them? Let me tell you why. Meeting them are inspirational. How's that? Sometimes when we were discussing about advertising, their campaigns, sekali sekala terselit macam macam cerita. Yes macam-macam. Hey having business bukan senang yea. Nampak macam glamour saja. As for me I love listening to them. This macam-macam is not just empty macam-macam. Its their story. How diaorang jadi siapa diaorang sekarang.
All this while I really thought these people started their busness and terus BOOOM meletup in just few months or at least first year or first 2 years. I thought most of the brands they are famous with now are their first product. I really thought diaorang ni semua mesti tak pernah jatuh tersungkur. I thought... I thought... I thought...
NO.
Most of them yang berjaya sekarang this would be their more than 3 years in business industry
.
Most of them yang popular with their brand now is their second or third brand.
Most of them pernah jatuh tersungkur at least sekali.
And, the more i know these group, the more I realised it doesnt come easy. And it took a very strong person to have a business kalu tak kuat tak strong, memang boleh jatuh tersungkur. It is not about jatuh tersungkur, it is about how u bangun balik lepas jatuh tersungkur. I had it once. But I dont think my tersungkur was that bad. But, Im glad I managed to bangun balik, even slow. But I managed. Kekuatan diri, doa ibubapa dan of course pertolongan dari Allah S.W.T.
Some people hanya nak tau " Macammana yea U berjaya? Macammana ye u start your business? Bagilah tips-tips berjaya ". But for me I suka dengar cerita diaorang from the start. Yes, from there U boleh dapat jalan and inspirasi how to be successful like them.
These entrepreneurs have the same traits. Strong, risk-takers, pernah gagal at least sekali, hardworking, independent, opportunist, persistence and time management skill memang tip top. Diaorang tak suka buang masa. They dont procrastinante.
I am so lucky to be in this line, to be in media advertising and dapat berkeja rapat with all the business owners. Peluang macam ni memang susah nak dapat. Bukan untuk ambil kesempatan or ambil jalan mudah tanya tips tips dari mereka yang dah berjaya tetapi suka dengar liku-liku hidup mereka yang menjadikan mereka rich dan famous sekarang.
Conclusion dekat sini, kalau takde traits yang i mentioned di atas, memang susah nak jadi rich and famous. Unless if you are born rich. Itu lain cerita.

Pengiklanan Melalui Talkshow di Televisyen.

Client boleh pilih mengikut budget mereka. Ratings of course berbeza mengikut harga.
As an advertising agency, I will always advise client to start with the lower budget first. Get the feel of it. Bukan senang ye nak go live for the first time. Plus we need to talk about our product in just 6 minutes. Our confidence, cara penyampaian, our appearance and our branding is so important. kalau kita dapat tengok orang yang selalu buat talkshow like Dato' Aliff Syukri, Almas and Dunia Herbs lancar saja penyampaian diaorang. Kenapa? Kerana dah biasa. So mulakan dengan membeli slot talkshow rate yang murah sikit seperti Assalamualaikum di TV Alhijrah. Kalau gugup takde lah ralat sangat bayar RM 30K ++ BECAUSE the host will stop u exactly at the 6 minutes. Nanti balik rasa tak puas hati and menyesal.
Sepanjang klien-klien kami yang masuk talkshow-talkshow di atas boleh dikatakan 98% happy with feedback yang mereka dapat dari penonton. Call masuk bertubi-tubi. Kena tambah stok immediately after each talkshow dan sale memang best sangat sangat even selepas 2 - 3 hari selepas talkshow mereka keudara. The other 2% mendapat feedback yang kurang. It could be a lot of factors. Cara penyampaian, tarikh dan masa tidak sesuai atau produk itu sendiri tidak sesuai.
Cara penyampaian, kami dapati bila klien perempuan yang buat talkshow confirm menarik minat penonton. memang bertubu-tubi call dan sales yang akan masuk. Especially perempuan muda la kan. Kenapa. Hmmmm paham-paham lah kan.
Satu lagi tarikh atau masa. Kami akan nasihatkan klien untuk tidak on air pada tengah-tengah bulan. Ye lah gaji tak keluar lagi kan. So sale memang susah nak jalan. And elakkan cuti panjang seperti cuti perayaan, cuti sekolah atau hujung minggu yang panjang. Kerana mostly akan keluar rumah time-time tu. Untuk produk kesihatan, jangan keluar time bulan puasa or time raya. Ini kerana semua sibuk nak beli baju raya, tudung raya dan kuih raya. Maybe time ni kena ubah angle perniaggan kita.
Produk juga memainkan peranan yang penting. Penonton sangat suka produk kesihatan dan kecantikan. Samada makan, minum atau penggunaan luaran. Especially kalau harga berpatutan. Kami perhatikan agak slow sikit untuk produk-produk yang mahal. Tapi jangan risau. The power of advertising sangat penting. Kena konsisten. Kalau kita konsisten, mereka selalu dengar, produk yang beribuan ringgit pon penonton sanggup beli kerana sudah wujud kepercayaan dalam diri mereka dan anggapan produk ni mesti bagus pasal dia dah banyak kali keluar TV. Hehehe.
Consistency memang sangat penting. Kita tak boleh harap dengan masuk sekali terus BOOM ! Kadang-kadang penonton diaorang nak tanam trust in them bukan senang. Kita kena sentiasa ketuk pintu hati mereka. So kena selalu selalu lah muncul didepan mata mereka dan bisikkan ayat ayat manis tentang busineess atau produk anda di talkshow.
Conclusion, talkshow sangat berkesan. Ditambah dengan slide dan tvc lagi BOMBASTIC kesan yang akan anda terima untuk mempromosikan perniagaan anda. Kami sebagai ajensi pengiklanan sentiasa mahukan yang terbaik untuk pelanggan kami. We dont go for one off klien. Kami ingin perhubungan perniagaan yang berpanjangan.

Happy 2nd Birthday Adville !!!
Alhamdulillah... today marked our Adville's second birthday. Wow ! we are 2 years old already as an advertising agency. Adville Sdn Bhd was born on the 3rd August 2015. Adville's journey as an advertising agency was fantastic so far. It is not easy to park our place among all the top advertising agencies that already existed in Malaysia. We are considered a baby not even a toddler. Even now. But I have to tell you guys, the experiences, the hard work, the ups and downs, the happy and sad tears, the challenges are all worth it. In 2 good years I really think Adville has a very important role in media world as an advertising agency in Malaysia.
Starting an advertising agency is not as easy as ABC. Without the experiences, the networking, the knowledge and the supports from my family and partners I or Adville wont be here right now. Setting up an advertising agency is one thing, setting up a business is another thing. I was an employee before just like most of us, even I have the media background with me but building a company it took me a really lot of efforts, energy, time, money and skills to be in this advertising or media game.
I want to grow old with Adville. I want Adville to be the top advertising agency in Malaysia and InsyaAllah one of the top advertising agency in Asia or maybe the world one day.
I would like to thank my family, friends, partners, clients and media owners and all the media people that supported us for this 2 wonderful years Adville in media / advertising world. Without you guys, Adville will not still be here and growing bigger and stronger as we are now. Thank you so much for everything.
